I purchased these at the request of my 9 year old grandson. Because of a serious heart defect he is unable to play sports or do many of the things that other children can. He has so much fun with this toy! They go into battle with each other and make all kinds of cute noises, although I wish there was a volume button!

Gah! I bought several pieces of the Kung Zhu world for my 5 year old. Although the idea is cute in theory, it just isn't working well. The area halves are put together super-securely but the tunnels that lead to the arena do not attach well at all. At least not my set. The connector tunnels with the power up strip that "transforms" your hamster don't connect well and hence keep falling off. Also, the door going from the tunnel to the arena is designed to flip up with just a push from the hamster but in reality, doesn't always go up. So then it stops the hamster. Ours usually needs a little kid help. This is kind of an $$ toy to be manufactured with this type of inexactness. Overall I'm having major letdown about the whole Kung Zhu line. It seems like the center of the whole Kung Zhu world is this big battle arena and it just doesn't work the way it should. I've called the 800 number and the service person simply told me to gather up all the pieces, original box, receipts, etc and return it to the place of purchase. She said they used to send out replacement parts but it took too long so they stopped. Huh?? And so I write a review. Best to buy from a store you can return it at and make sure to save all the packaging.
